University of California, San Diego - Virtual Triton Day

VITRO is the creative agency of record for UC San Diego. In late February, members from their admissions team came to VITRO needing help with creating a virtual experience for their annual Triton Day which is normally an in person event held in April on campus for high school seniors who have been accepted to the school. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person event wasn't feasible.

As the Project Manager/ Producer for the account, I got to work and figured out how we could create a new video and microsite for the event on a very short timeline. together, our creative team worked with an outside production company to pull off a COVID safe video shoot with five students and our team worked to secure all of the necessary permits in order to fly a drone over the campus in La Jolla.

The chancellor of the university was excited to see the video and he chose to attend the shoot as well and enjoyed seeing the incredible footage that our drone operator was able to capture. The admissions team was also happy with how the microsite and video turned out and the event ended up being a success despite the fact that it had to be virtual.

This is the final Triton Day video that accepted high school seniors saw on Triton Day since they weren't able to attend the event in person. The video was designed to show off the beautiful campus and everything the school has to offer.
